A $370 million reconstruction project is set to begin on Interstate 285 after the Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) awarded contracts for the work. The initiative will rehabilitate approximately 17 miles of the highway on the west side corridor, spanning Cobb and Fulton counties.
The project is divided into three coordinated segments. The first covers 5.3 miles of I-285 from State Route 14 to Mt. Gilead Road. The second will address the 4.8-mile stretch from Mt. Gilead Road to C
