In anticipation of the FIFA World Cup matches, Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens has introduced legislation to the Atlanta City Council to establish a new Downtown Enterprise Zone. The designation is part of the mayor’s Neighborhood Reinvestment Initiative, which aims to bring economic opportunity to every child in Atlanta.
The Enterprise Zone will capture a portion of sales and use tax revenue generated by qualifying businesses within the zone. That revenue will be reinvested into affordable housing
