A $370 million project to reconstruct and rehabilitate approximately 17 miles of Interstate 285 (I-285) on the west side of Cobb and Fulton counties is now underway, according to Building Excellence News. The Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) is managing the project via two separate contracts.
Georgia DOT Commissioner Russell R. McMurry, PE, called the west side of I-285 a "critical artery" for the Atlanta metropolitan area and the state. As reported by Building Excellence News,
